I am incredibly proud to have known Steve, not only was he was a valued member of my management team, well respected by all his colleagues and those he met in business, he was someone who I counted as friend and confidant. He faced his cancer journey with such positivity, it was easy to forget that what he was going through. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I met Steve on my first day with Funeral Partners and he was so welcoming. I will miss the banter we shared about football. He was a remarkable man who would always do anything to support our teams. We will miss you Steve.

The loss of Steve is felt by many who have had the fortunate experience of knowing him. This is desperately sad news. We did have some happy times back in the day and I have nothing but fond memories of Steve. I know it is not a surprise but still a shock so my thoughts are with family and friends.

I am very sorry and so sad to read this. I liked and admired Steve greatly and when I joined Avalon as a “newbie” to the funeral planning industry he was kind and supportive. He was of course always professional, but beyond that he was such a lovely person and we enjoyed catching up and speaking to each other frequently over the years. It’s difficult to know what to say in such a situation. Steve and I always got on extremely well and I counted him as a friend within the industry. We were talking up until the last couple of months and I will miss our lengthy chats on all thing pre-need. I was incredibly sad when Lynne called me this morning to tell me the news, which, I suppose, we all knew was going to come. Steve was a true gentleman. Steve always had time for me, my team and many others. This is very sad news indeed. Shortly after our acquisition by Funeral Partners, Mr Coyle came to visit us; he was most inspirational and encouraging, and I always found him to be very helpful and friendly. My sympathy to his family.

Steve absolutely transformed the pre-need business of FPL. I always enjoyed accompanying him around the region and he took a genuine interest in other peoples lives and children. He could also sell ice to the eskimo’s and I learnt a lot from him about presenting figures favourably to your audience! 😊 He is irreplaceable.
